This meeting has been cancelled until further notice due to concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Per City Manager TC Broadnax: all City sponsored departmental related programs, events, activities, trainings, and seminars scheduled in the community at city owned facilities, and/or which involve city staff, are cancelled until further notice. This includes the planning, organizing of resources where the City has been invited to participate.

An application has been filed for the demolition of the main structure at 218 N. Marlborough Ave. The building is listed as a contributing structure in the Rosemont National Register Historic District, which qualifies it for the 45-day demolition delay period. A meeting has been scheduled to discuss options with the property owners and other interested parties and is open to the public in accordance with the demolition delay process, Section 51A-4.504 of the Dallas City Code.

Important points to remember about the Demolition Delay process:

  • Demolition requests are initiated by the property owner or by a contractor on behalf of the property owner, NOT by the City of Dallas.
  • Properties within a DDO boundary qualify for the extended demolition delay period if they are: (1) located in a National Register Historic District; (2) designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark​;(3) designated as a State Archeological Landmark; (4) designated as a National Historic Landmark; (5) listed as a significant building in the 2003 Downtown Dallas Architecturally Significant Properties Survey; ​or (6) listed as a contributing structure in the 1994 Hardy-Heck-Moore Survey​.
  • The City of Dallas is required by ordinance to release the demolition permit if no agreement with the owner is reached at the end of the 45-day delay period.
